About us
Spain, every day, in plain English
Azulejo Daily is for people who love Spain but do not read Spanish every morning: expats, students, travellers and the curious.

An azulejo is a glazed tile, the kind that covers walls from Seville to Lisbon. Each one is small, but together they make a picture. That is how we think about news: many small, well-made pieces that add up to a sense of a country.
We read Spanish regional newspapers, official notices, museum and festival announcements every day. We pick stories that matter to everyday life, check them against the original source, and write them up in English with the sources linked at the end.
We deliberately leave out party politics, elections, courts, crime and conflict. Our desks are culture, heritage, fiestas and food, science, travel and sport.
