Eight commitments every story on Azulejo Daily has to meet.
Effective Friday 2 October 2026
1. Every story has a named source
We only publish what we can trace to an identifiable source: an official body, an organiser, a museum, a club, a scientific team or an established news organisation. Sources are listed and linked at the end of each story.
2. We check before we publish
Names, dates, figures and quotes are compared with the source. When sources disagree, we say so in the story.
3. We choose our subjects
We do not cover party politics, election campaigns, court cases, crime or armed conflict. This is a decision about what we are good at, not a view on those subjects.
4. We are fair to the people we write about
We describe people by what they do, not by labels, and we do not publish private details that are not needed to understand a story.
5. Stories are signed
Each story carries the name of its author and is edited by a second person before it goes live.
6. Images are labelled
Photographs on the site are illustrative images, created for us or licensed, and are labelled as such. They do not show the event in the story.
7. How we use software
Reporters write the stories. We use software for spell-checking, translation help and to produce illustrative images. A human editor reviews every page.
8. Money does not buy coverage
Advertisers cannot choose, change or preview stories. Sponsored material, if we ever carry it, will be clearly marked as such.
