2. Information we collect
- Technical data. Our servers record IP address, device and browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. This keeps the site secure and working.
- Contact and newsletter. If you email us or sign up for the Thursday Letter, we keep your email address and what you send us.
- Optional cookies. Only if you allow audience measurement or advertising in the privacy choices panel.
3. How we use it
- Running and protecting the website
- Answering messages, tips and correction requests
- Sending the newsletter you asked for
- With your permission, counting visits and showing or measuring ads
4. Legal basis for visitors in the EU, EEA and UK
We rely on legitimate interests for security and correspondence, on your consent for the newsletter and optional cookies, and on legal obligation where we must keep records. You may withdraw consent at any time.
6. International transfers
We are a US company. When data from the EEA or UK reaches us, we use the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where available or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
7. How long we keep it
- Server logs: up to 30 days
- Emails and tips: up to 3 years
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, to object to or restrict its use, and to opt out of targeted advertising. Visitors in Spain may also complain to the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos. Residents of California, Oregon and other US states with privacy laws have the rights those laws grant, and we will not treat you differently for using them.

9. Children
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
10. Changes to this notice
When we change this notice, we update the effective date at the top.
